Time flies when you’re havin’ fun they say. Can’t believe it’s been seven whole years since the very beginning of LangTec. Today to the day it was that LangTec was registered with the local authorities.
The amazing thing is that things are getting more and more exciting by the day. While AI has been our focus since day one, it’s great to see how much intelligent systems have arrived in the market place today. No week goes by without several new requests on AI solutions coming in. We look forward to many more of those over the next seven years. Thanks to our great team and to all our faithful clients. It’s a great thing happening here 🙂

Having just returned from a great holiday in the Alps, we received the delightful news that we’ve been commissioned by a large client from the financial sector with the development of a technical proof of concept in an optical-character-recognition context. OCR describes the process of converting image information into textual data. The objective of this development effort is to employ machine learning and artifical intelligence in the automated recognition of document types and the extraction of business-relevant information from scanned documents.

We are thrilled to report that the operator of an important European product portal has commissioned us to generate a large number of SEO-optimised product texts on a regular basis. Our solution architecture includes interfacing TextWriter, LangTecs natural language generation (NLG) solution, to external data sources.

It was about time: We are finally retiring our faithful development server. At the time of writing, it is being replaced by a real powerhouse with multiple high-speed processor cores, a huge working memory and a Raid-5 array of superfast-access hard drives. We are curious to see how long it will take until we outgrow this one, too …

We are super-happy to welcome Jason Luc on our team. Jason is our new software development intern. He studies software system development and is currently interning with us in the context of his mandatory Bachelor course internship.

In 2017, LangTec has made yet another a contribution – beyond daily business. We have supported important aid organisations financially on a regular basis. In 2017, our ongoing support went to Amnesty International and Doctors Without Borders. Thanks to these organisations for their great work!

It was a long, exciting and super interesting year 2017 for LangTec. We keep on growing … slowly, but very steadily. Our projects continually  increase in volume, scope and complexity. For this reason, both our revenue and team size have doubled in the past year. Well, if this isn’t a really good reason to party … !
