Not sure what’s happening in the market place these days but everyone seems to be rediscovering good old optical character recognition (OCR) as a fun thing to play with. OCR involves the recognition of textual elements in image material such as scanned-in documents or screenshots. We have been commissioned with our third project along those lines now. Specifically, we will be using advanced machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) to extract business-critical information from scanned-in documents with utmost precision.

Wow, seven Years of LangTec!
Time flies when you’re havin’ fun they say. Can’t believe it’s been seven whole years since the very beginning of LangTec. Today to the day it was that LangTec was registered with the local authorities.
The amazing thing is that things are getting more and more exciting by the day. While AI has been our focus since day one, it’s great to see how much intelligent systems have arrived in the market place today. No week goes by without several new requests on AI solutions coming in. We look forward to many more of those over the next seven years. Thanks to our great team and to all our faithful clients. Information Extraction in an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Context
Having just returned from a great holiday in the Alps, we received the delightful news that we’ve been commissioned by a large client from the financial sector with the development of a technical proof of concept in an optical-character-recognition context. OCR describes the process of converting image information into textual data. The objective of this development effort is to employ machine learning and artifical intelligence in the automated recognition of document types and the extraction of business-relevant information from scanned documents.
